We came across a beautiful video that symbolised peace, harmony, kindness and the true spirit of Ubuntu.

As South Africans, we sometimes tend to focus our energy on the negatives, but for every challenge, there’s also kindness happening in the background.

It’s not about ignoring the bad but about sharing moments that restore faith in our communities – reminders that hope and goodness still exist.

A few weeks ago, a Cape Town taxi driver stopped to help an older man cross the road during the heavy winds. In the same spirit of kindness, a Johannesburg woman recently stopped her car in the rain to help an elderly person.

The elderly person, walking with crutches, fell in the middle of the road. Without hesitation, she rushed over, helped them up, and guided them safely to the sidewalk.

The video sparked thousands of positive comments, spreading hope and love.

One comment stood out – a man who claimed to be her father proudly wrote, “My daughter!! So super proud of the woman you have become!! That’s how we roll in SA!”

Whether or not he was truly her father, the overwhelming sense of togetherness in the comments was heartwarming to see.
