Learners at Cape Town school experience VR safari
Updated | By The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp
Primary school kids got to experience a safari adventure and a rollercoaster ride - and their reactions were epic!
Exposing kids to new technology can be a massive leap in education, but it can also be something of a sensory shock.
Everything is about technology today, so keeping them from learning about the advancements in an area that is the future might be considered backward. This is why more and more schools are improving their tech game regarding subjects and equipment.
From introducing subjects such as coding and robotics to exposing kids to virtual reality, this is what we have come to expect from our curriculum.
Goodwood Primary School in Cape Town shared a video of their students experiencing virtual reality on their TikTok page. We are not sure if this was the first time for all the students, but some were more surprised than others.

It seemed like it was a treat for the students, and many people commented positively on it. One person even asked how they could get this for their school.
- "We used to get the trolley with the video machine and box TV."
- "I always say thank you to the principal and staff that go out of their way to create these experiences for the kids!"
- "When we were told as kids that if we sit too close to the TV... Now what?"
- "Oh, this must've Been so entertaining for the teachers as well."
- "My son's school is also doing this. They are doing the aquarium one."
