Last month, we learned about how to react to burn emergencies at home from Dr Nikki Allorto, general surgeon and founder of Burn Care Trust.
Dr Nikki Allorto is a general surgeon with a special interest in critical care and she operates a burn centre in KZN. She is involved in all facets of this field as the founder of Burn Care Trust – from research, education, and resource management to surgery, outreach, and telemedicine.
She taught us many things that every parent needs to know – such as the first step after identifying a severe burn injury on your child: Run the burn under cold water for approximately 20 min.

How Parent + Baby Brunch is helping
This month, we have something special to give back to this invaluable KZN-based organisation for its role in South African healthcare.
Can you guess what it is?
Parent + Baby Brunch as a support network is donating R10 000 towards the Burn Care Trust!
But that’s not all…
Epimax has decided to join us as we support the Burn Care Trust by matching our donation with a further R10 000, making the total pledge R20 000!
The spirit of giving is contagious!
