When you're a 'conscious' parent and want everyone around you to be 'conscious', it can become a confusing interaction...
Gentle parenting has become a craze for many Millennial parents. It's almost as if it has taken over all our senses, and we are obsessed with becoming the most sensitised parents in all aspects.
It is one thing for parents to practice gentle parenting, but then there's getting the grandparents to reinforce these parenting methods as well. Getting your Boomer parents (1946 and 1964) to understand your motivation behind speaking 'gently' to your children can be an uphill battle.
However, many grandparents feel pressured in their pursuit of supporting their children's desire to parent differently from them. Most of the time, they don't fully understand it.

A comedic display of what it's like for Boomer grandparents coached by their Millennial kids practising 'gentle' parenting left us laughing out loud.
Not only that, the video also pushed us to see another side of things. A side that is not acknowledged as much. In the video, we see a writer mom who is also a millennial addressing everything her Boomer mom does with her kids.
Taylor Wolfe showed how some millennial parents have everything to say, from telling the child to hurry up to expressing pride over their accomplishments; there was an approved version of 'how' to do this. Poor grandma bore the brunt of it all.
We must say that we loved grandma's brutal honesty, which we think is lacking in this new generation of kids.
