Mom discovers why her washing takes five hours

Perhaps manufacturers should look into a 'child-lock.'

We learn that child-proofing your home is a must before having a baby. But no one prepares you for the bigger picture when making your home 'child-proof'.

Toddlers are natural investigators. When learning, they touch things they are not supposed to, which is a natural part of growing.

Through touch, they discover how things work, so expecting your home to be completely 'child-proofed' is not something you should expect as a new parent.

This mother wondered why her laundry would take longer than she programmed the machine for, and the reason behind it was the cutest you would find.

Of course, we know that when toddlers get their hands on something, there's a high chance that things will not go as planned, but isn't that the fun of being a parent

"Children are natural explorers, ready to touch, taste, smell, look at, and listen to everything around them. Everywhere that children go, they are curious about the things around them." (Resources for Early Learning)

As much as this is part of the growth process, maybe it would be a good idea to have your washing machine in a laundry room or a room with a lockable door. Because five hours for one cycle of washing, that's a lot.

The alternative, write to the manufacturers about a 'child-lock' button.
