We all should learn from this advice - talk to your toddlers about harming animals.

Teaching our kids about respecting nature can take work. Sometimes, you have to face some harsh circumstances before talking with them.

For some parents, it is finding the remains of a frog on their kitchen counter or witnessing their child hurt a bird; for this mother, it was seeing her toddler stomp on a butterfly like a cockroach trying to escape.

In a video shared by Brooklyn, a mother expresses her excitement over taking her child to the botanical gardens and zoo.

Mom bravely shared the video of her two-year-old stomping on a butterfly at the botanical gardens. After all, social media users aren't afraid to share their true feelings.

She said, "RIP butterfly 😭 when a toddler's intrusive thoughts win. Yes, we had a conversation with the 2-year-old about harming animals after this happened. He holds bugs all the time. This surprised is at the zoo."

It is vital to teach our kids the importance of bugs in our ecosystem and to have that conversation about respecting plant and animal life.

"Not only do bugs play vital roles in helping plants or feeding animals, but they can also be helping a different kind of species through symbiotic relationships (another fun topic to explore)." (Wild Sprouts)

Field trips into the outdoors can positively affect kids' appreciation of bugs in their natural environment. This experience could also allow them to see the beauty of appreciating these bugs so often overlooked as pests.

This is what this mom was trying to do by taking her little one to the botanical gardens and zoo, but things quickly took a turn for the worse when her little one acted out of character.

As expected, some people were harsh in the comments, so the mom posted another video of her toddler behaving around insects and animals. Watch the video below - courtesy of TikTok
