You never truly know what you will find when you research things to do in Gauteng, but this one is a goodie.
Weekends are for the family, and we have found just the right activity for you and your family in Centurion, Gauteng.
The coolest parts about this attraction are that it is cost-effective for the entire family and that it has trains, which are always on the cool list.
Mom and Paediatric Speech Therapist, Rach, shared a video of her family visiting a hidden gem in Centurion, the Centurion Society of Model Engineers.
The website says that the Centurion Society of Engineers is the perfect spot for a family outing or picnic.
"Back in January 1961, some like-minded gentlemen formed a club called 'Pretoria Live steam Club/Pretoria stoomtrekkragklub' which operated from their garages, building trains. Many years later, in 1985, it was announced that the then Verwoerdburg Municipality had made a site available for enthusiasts to exercise their hobby and attract public interest."
The entrance fee is R30 per person, which includes a free train ride. Then, each train ride is R15.
