Mom surprised by her daughter's reaction to ruined birthday cake
This is a beautiful example of what kids see versus what the adult in you sees...
When we were kids, not much phased us about life. Mud cakes were high on the list of priorities, and celebrations didn't have to be extravagant to make us feel special.
But as we grew up, society's ideals and having to keep up with a certain standard took over. It became all about making everything perfect because anything less than that was unacceptable.
A mother recently reminded us (and herself) that kids don't see those ideals; they only see their version of the extraordinary.
A mother shared her disappointment when she ruined her daughter's fifth birthday Princess cake.
She was in tears over it, thinking and believing that she ruined her daughter's big surprise. But she was the one who was left surprised. When her daughter came home and saw her birthday cake and all the decorations, she was elated.
So much so, that she kept screaming, "I love it, I love it, I love it..."
