Mom warns parents to always check their kids' pockets
Updated | By The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp
We should be prepared for the worst when it comes to what our kids keep.
We already know that kids can get up to some outrageous things.
That's just part of growing up and learning. Kids will do what they want when they're discovering the world around them.
So, it is only natural for us to expect things such as dirty fingers, mud in unlikely places, and pet worms in their pockets.
Yes, you read correctly, pet worms in their pockets.
One mother gave a firm warning in a video she took that showed what her son had in his pockets.
Warning to parents, "Always check your kids' pockets, you just never know what you'll find."

It seems there is more to it than we fully understand. Collecting and transporting isn't just for fun.
According to Lovevery.com, "Putting objects in containers and taking them all out again increases focus and extends your toddler’s attention span. They are practicing more refined grasp and release skills while cultivating independence."
Learning that our kids are actually developing through something that is assumed to be such a mediocre part of growing up is quite comforting to hear.
