Getting a pet for the family is definitely a big decision; one that cannot be taken lightly.
And as much as many parents do say no at the onset of a child asking for a pet, the reasoning we have to agree is mostly sound.
We want to teach our kids about responsibility, so getting a pet is definitely one way of attempting that.
But sometimes, kids forget their responsibilities after the novelty of getting a pet wears off.
One parent really showed us how to address the topic in a very subtle way.
After the mom of Bohlale and Thato heard her daughter ask for a pet cat, she was faced with the task of having to say no to her cute baby girl.
The little girl, who is looking through a picture book, asks her mom for a cat, and mom makes sure she understands by asking if she means a "meow meow" cat...
