Oprah inspires us on how to live a happy life

Oprah Winfrey shares her learnings in the most profound ways. Here are just a few of them that we found impactful.
When we need motivation, inspiration, and some good old-fashioned straight talk, the lady we seek is Oprah Winfrey.
Not only does she inspire us with her ability to continuously learn and grow, but she also just has a way with words.
Most recently we saw a piece about her on Inc. Africa, and it piqued our interest. The article outlines four simple things that she believes help you achieve success and happiness.
This motivated us to share some valuable lessons we have learnt from her and her guests over the years.
Ten years ago, Oprah had Dr Brené Brown on one of her Super Soul Sunday talks. It was interesting to hear what vulnerability meant for these strong and educated women.
Not only did they reveal that being more vulnerable can assist you in success, but they also shared how 'vulnerability' has long been associated with weakness.
This taught us that we need to let go of the old patterns that we believe to be true and be more vulnerable to our feelings; acquiring the confidence to apply open communication with those around you. Not everything is a strategic move.

Oprah's talk with Dr Shefali (the parenting guru) about letting go of expectations was enlightening.
And the fact that Oprah shed light on a personal experience and how she realised that she was trying to control the situation with her own expectations, was humble and colossal.
Learning that we can stop the need to control everything by letting go of expectations helps us become better parents.

This one was really controversial as it needed us to dig deeper when it comes to 'self-improvement'.
Oprah chatted with Tibetan Buddhist nun Pema Chodron about her book, 'Start Where You Are: A Guide to Compassionate Living'.
Her words say that we already have everything we need. This housed a deeper meaning. Check out what they chat about below, courtesy of YouTube.
