Parents find lighter inside toddler's mattress

The above video from TikTok shows parents of a three-year-old removing a lighter from the child's mattress.
Mom Rose shared how she felt something protruding from her three-year-old son's mattress, so they decided to cut through it and found a lighter.
Shocked by their discovery, they decided to look into the mattress more. What they discovered was unbelievable. Rose's boyfriend took the scissors and cut through the side of the mattress, and they discovered an old mattress inside.

@rosek292 We wanted to see if there was anything else inside the mattress and I was reading about how some mattresses are refurbished so we wanted to take a look. We were going to get rid of the mattress either way because it was extremely uncomfortable. Im very surprised how dirty the mattress is….. and they just put a new cover over it. I got this mattress new about a year ago and we took the plastic off just recently. #mattress ♬ original sound - RoseK
She was shocked by the stained mattress that was found inside. It was apparent then that they had been scammed.
The person who sold her the mattress had stitched over a new fabric and even mimicked the bed seal many mattresses have. She was mortified to see the number of stains on the mattress. We assume her frustration came from knowing that she had been scammed, but more so because her child was sleeping on this mattress.
She tried to connect with the seller on Facebook Marketplace, but was unsuccessful.
There are just some things that you should never buy on Facebook Marketplace.
