"So, last night I experienced my "I'm staying" moment..."
With everything that has happened over the past two plus years, it comes as no surprise as to why many people have emigrated.
But the social media "I'm staying" stories that have been shared by many South Africans online, truly inspire us into believing in our country...
This story was shared by a woman who was going to pick up her daughter from work last Sunday. A little too late she realised she needed to fill up.
"I left the house in a hurry to fetch my daughter from her 9pm shift and didn't take my bag... Being preoccupied with allot on my mind, I didn't realise I had no petrol. I stopped at the Engen garage on Christiaan DeWet just before Clearwater Mall...Very embarrassed, I asked the attendant to help me..." (Facebook)
She promised to return and pay him back. As much as the petrol attendant looked concerned, perhaps this didn't end well for him previously...
He went ahead and paid for her petrol out of his own pocket.
The good news is that she didn't get stuck without petrol and managed to fetch her daughter.

And just like she said, she returned to pay him back the money and give him a little extra for his effort and trust.
Many people have commented on the post commending her for returning, and also saying that this story restores their faith in South Africa.
