As learners embark on their final examinations, we have noticed many parents and siblings providing them with the necessary support and well wishes for 2024.

Many parents have shared pictures on social media of gift baskets, or 'exam care packages', as many people call them. These care packages are filled with stationery and snacks; some even have energy bars and personalised coffee mugs.

One young man in Grade 9 shared the exam care package his mother gifted him. It wasn't just caring but also super practical. Mom taught him a key lesson here: Always lead by being pragmatic.

In the video, the young man shared his mother's version of an 'exam care package', which included more than ten click pens and R10.

  • "It's the thought that counts; thank you, Mom."
  • "I asked my mom why she never got me one, and she said its cause I've passed every year without one and if i get one I'd fail."
