It was surprising for internet users to see something unusual on TikTok recently. A video of three pregnant women dancing in the labour ward of a hospital was not only entertaining, but also concerned some.

The moms-to-be decided to participate in a new TikTok dance challenge and danced to the Amapiano song 'Biri Marung'. It's a vibey song that gets you moving your body.

Most mothers about to go into labour are rarely able to do this. But these mothers were on the move and ready to spread joy in the labour ward. This was a sight to see...

Dancing is listed as an activity that can help pregnant women induce labour and it is undoubtedly fun. The baby's head sits low in the pelvis when the mother moves her hips.

"To facilitate the first phase of labour, a woman can also dance, as rhythmic movements and gravity can help promote the baby's movement lower into the pelvis." (Tuasaude)

Of course, it is always advisable to check in with your doctor or medical professional before exerting yourself during the labour process. If you have not been active throughout your pregnancy, then perhaps this is not for you.

The mother-to-be who posted the video was happy to share that the rest of the pregnant women in the ward were in lots of pain and, therefore, sat on their beds.

When asked if the babies came after the dancing, she said she expected to give birth in the next few days. Whether or not she has is unknown, as she has not posted anything since the above video.

Nevertheless, we hope the babies felt the excitement and lightheartedness in their pre-birthing choreography.
