Preschool teacher gets a 'tattle phone' for her class
This is one of the smartest and cutest ideas for teachers. At least then, you won't have to hear your students' constant tattling.
We love seeing educators sharing their quirky teacher stuff on social media. Not only is it fun for parents to watch, but it is also wholesome for us to identify teachers with a passion for teaching.
An American teacher shared a cute little addition she added to her kindergarten (preschool) class that could be used for several purposes. She bought something she called a "tattle phone".
It is actually a message recorder that is designed to look like the corded phones people used in the '60s and '70s. They are typically used at weddings.
The retro phone allows people to record messages to the bride and groom, who can then go back and listen to them. This teacher decided to put the phone to good use by helping her deal with tattling in the classroom.
People are referring to the tattle phone as a key "classroom management tool", and Mrs James, the teacher who shared the video, admitted that this was not her idea. She had seen the idea floating around in the teaching world and wanted to try it out.
Apart from relieving the teacher from hearing 10 kids complain about the same thing, this is also a creative outlet for the children to air their feelings.
"Across social media, teachers are putting prop phones in their classrooms, where students can air their grievances about each other and other things bothering them throughout their days. James decided to get a phone that records the messages so she can go back and hear what her students have to say." (People)
