She rejected her mother-in-law's self-invite to stay

A touchy topic to chat about, but one that is slowly evolving...
A young mother shared a short video with her story time on TikTok and it got the age-old topic back to the forefront.
The topic of mothers-in-law and their daughters-in-law.
Somewhat of a touchy topic for some, but it actually is a stereotype that some cultures tend to thrive on because they are unable to set healthy boundaries.
In the video, the young mother shares how her mother-in-law (MIL) said she would be coming to stay for two months to help with the baby.
The mother then explained to her MIL that she didn't need help with the baby, but rather with the other stuff that comes with being a mother.
The cleaning, the cooking, and the daily to-do list. But MIL was not happy helping with those things.
Fair to point out that they both are well within their rights to express what they want and don't want with one another.

We think it is important to note that setting positive boundaries with family, friends, and co-workers should be something we all learn at an early age.
But, sadly, that is not prioritised. Here's to learning how to say "no" without the guilt. We loved this comment from another mother:
kcfeline: "My MIl paid for me to have a cleaning lady 2x a month for six months. That was the best gift ever!"
