Student says she was kidnapped to get out of graduating
Turns out she was keeping a big secret from her family!
When we think about graduation, there is a sense of pride and joy that enters our hearts.
Mostly because as parents we do imagine our kids furthering their education in some way or form (IF that's something they want to do).
But this story is certainly one that gets you thinking about the extent an individual will go to keep their parents in the dark about the truth.
Chloe Stein, a 23-year-old student at Penn State Greater Allegheny, was set to graduate with a nursing degree.
But it seems it wasn't as momentous an occasion for her as it was for her family.
As they planned for the joyous moment their daughter would get her degree, she had other plans.
"What her loved ones didn’t know was that she had not been attending classes for over a year, making her not eligible to graduate. So, instead of coming clean, the Pennsylvania student allegedly faked her abduction and sent police on a two-day search." (MSN)

The elaborate scheme to fool her family ended in her being charged "with false alarm to the public safety agency false reports, an obstacle to the law and other government functions, and disorderly conduct for wasting tens of thousands of dollars in police resources for an apparent hoax". (MSN)
