What better way to celebrate the New Year than by visiting a waterpark with the family?
There's no better way to celebrate the New Year than by taking a dip in the water. Visiting a waterpark always brings happiness to the entire family.
Here are three waterparks in Gauteng that you can visit this New Year's Day with the family.
1. Mzansi Happy Island Theme Park
Considered Johannesburg's biggest water park, this theme park features some of the best local water park slides and rides. Mzansi Theme Park (Previously known as 'Happy Island Water World') is your best choice for ultimate adventures.
Tickets for pensioners are R208 | General access R258 | Kids under 1.4m R208 | Kids under three years old enter free.
2. Wild Waters Boksburg
The Wild Waters Boksburg waterpark has been open throughout the festive season and tickets can be purchased at the gate. They are open from 10am to 5pm and feature a variety of attractions including raging rapids, wave pool, super-tube slide, speed slide, and the frightening Kamikaze Slide.
"There are also jungle gyms, sandpits, braai areas, volleyball facilities and even a putt-putt course, as well an on-site tuck shop selling drinks and snacks." (Joburg)

3. Aquadome at Emerald Casino
"This is the place to be when you are looking for an out-of-this-world experience. Both kids and adults will have a ton of fun at the Aquadome. They offer pools to suit everyone, whether you just want to relax or have a splashing good time. The kids will love the water slide and shipwreck, and everyone enjoys drifting along in the lazy river or taking a dip in the warm waters of the indoor, climate-controlled Aquadome." (Joburg)
One of the great things about this waterpark is that it is indoors and climate controlled.
