A toddler tells his dad that he 'crushed his spirit'

"You crushed my spirit..."
Children are gentle beings with sensitive souls. While many kids are resilient and can pop back up after feeling pain or being hurt, it is painful for parents to see the aftermath of causing their kids pain.
Some might say hurting a person's feelings is worse than physically harming them. The reasoning is simple: a physical pain fades away over time, it heals, but a hurt feeling can sometimes be challenging to move past.
Now, imagine hurting your little one and hearing them share how hurt they were; it's brutal.

A video online shows a little boy sharing his feelings with his dad.
Dad lost his patience and became frustrated with his son, which is normal; we cannot expect to always have it together as parents.
In his frustration, the father hurt his young boy's feelings. The little boy expressed that his father "crushed his spirit" in his frustrated mood. He looked so innocent and hurt when recalling what his father did. But what happened after that truly melted our hearts.

Notice how easy it was for him to forgive his dad for 'crushing his spirit'. Whereas adults will hold onto grudges and use ego as their reason against forgiving and letting go.
