As parents, we often want to steer our kids toward success, empowerment, and upliftment. Each generation of parents wants to surpass the previous generation in giving our children a better life than the one before.

It is commendable to achieve as a parent. Many parents and adults, in general, sometimes get it twisted when they surrender to giving or enabling their kids into a way of life rather than empowering them to live without limitations.

This sometimes involves pushing kids into the standardised way of learning or living up to societal norms.

It was a refreshing surprise to see a Ugandan school take a practical and exciting approach to learning with their elementary school learners.

The Twinbrook School shared several videos showing their preschoolers engaging in exciting projects at school. From soap making to working on an engine, these students perform ahead of their age compared to other elementary schoolers in different parts of the world.

This video put us to shame as we saw a group of young engineering students explain the parts of the engine to us confidently.

In a world where kids are learning practical skills such as these, it fills us with hope that educational facilities are adapting their teaching curriculums to keep up with the world's evolution.

Equipping our kids with the tools they require to live in this big and bountiful world should incorporate a practical and theoretical approach, and this school is doing that.

They are preparing their students to live in a world where they can quickly become self-sustainable with skills that will help them daily.
