We love when communities come together to show appreciation for valued members of their service industry.

This story really was so heartwarming because it showed how your community members can so easily become your family.

Tim McCloud worked for 23-years as a bagger at a local supermarket called Harris Teeter located in Glenwood Village, North Carolina.

McCloud made such a huge impression on his fellow community members and the proof of their love for him came when he broke the news that he would leaving.

"For Julie Caviness, he was her part-time therapist.

"He's just incredible. He's legendary here, I don't think he even knows it, that's what makes it so beautiful," she told WRAL's Keenan Willard. "He does not have a clue what a great impact he's had within our community." (Yahoo)

Caviness shared that apart from McCloud watching her kids grow up over the years, he has always been such a great councilor to the community, always engaged and ready to assist.

After commuting for more than twenty years, he decided to take an opportunity for a job at a Harris Teeter branch closer to his residence.

Although Caviness was heartbroken when she heard that he would be moving on, she quickly turned her sadness into motivation. She wanted to show her appreciation for the service and friendship he had given to her and her community.

So she started a GoFundMe page, and managed to reach her goal of raising $1,000 (R17, 936) within an hour.

She told Willard News, "I knew he had a fan club, we all talk about Tim and how kind he is. I don't think I had any clue how big his fan club is."

By the time the publication released the article, $31,000 (R556,000) was raised on his behalf.
