Now that took a turn for the positive...
Life in South Africa is very unpredictable.
Sometimes you witness things like unity, kindness, and friendliness.
Whilst other times you find yourself feeling unsafe in your own home. Sad but true.
So when we saw this video on TikTok, at first we were anything but keen to watch till the end.
Because it looked like a stereotypical moment that many South Africans and foreigners have experienced.
In case you are wondering what moment we are referring to, being a victim of crime, of course.
It's certainly not something we say with any sense of pride, but we have to admit it is a reality, not only in SA but around the world.
And so when we started watching this video, our tummies did get a bit knotted at first.

We have to admit that the anxiety when you first start watching is linked to the post traumatic stress that many people experience after being a victim to crime.
But the fact that this group is offering a break-away from the stereotyped version of what a 'criminal' looks and behaves like, is quite forward-thinking.
It's almost as if we didn't know we needed to be made aware of that till now.
