Just when you think you’ve finally shaken off a cold or flu, it returns without warning.

With the kids back at school, the chances of them bringing home sniffles are higher than ever – and before you know it, the whole family is feeling under the weather.

But don’t worry, we’ve discovered an all-natural remedy courtesy of DYK (Did You Know) and hack expert Armen Adamjan

He shared his recipe for what he calls his "cold potion", a simple yet effective drink that’s said to help ease those battling a stubborn cold. Plus, it's really easy to make.

Adamjan’s DIY cold remedy is a simple, all-natural way to help you feel better without breaking the bank on expensive cold medications.

His "cold potion" uses water, lemon, clove, ground ginger and honey. He recommends sipping it in small shot glasses throughout the day to keep the cold at bay.

Catching a cold or flu is never ideal, but in addition to trying natural remedies and resting when you can, there are a few things you should avoid to help your body recover faster.

Here’s a list of things to steer clear of when you’re under the weather:

  • Sugary drinks, alcohol and caffeine: These can dehydrate you, which can weaken your immune system.

  • Smoking or being around someone who smokes: Smoke can irritate your airways, making recovery harder.

  • Not resting: Rest is just as important as medicine when it comes to healing.

  • Junk food and skipping meals: Proper nutrition supports your immune system, so don’t skip meals or settle for unhealthy snacks.

  • Unhygienic habits: Wash your hands often, and always cough, and sneeze into a flexed elbow to prevent spreading germs.

  • Not drinking enough water: Staying hydrated helps thin mucus and keeps you feeling better overall.
