Flea markets are the perfect family spot; they usually have something for everyone and many stories to share. Each stall houses items that are either handmade or second-hand and have unique histories.

Sometimes, thrift shoppers or bargain hunters pick up some great finds at flea markets. It is a matter of having a good eye when shopping and knowing how to spot a purchase worth your money.

A young kid who seems to have gotten her way at the Milnerton Flea Market in Cape Town left her mother a bit traumatised by her choice.

One might say we are used to surrendering to unreasonable shopping choices, but these generally involve a toy that might be over-the-top in value.

Motivating for something that doesn't fit the profile can be less than discerning. However, that doesn't mean that it is the wrong choice. This young girl chose an item that looked pretty ordinary at first.

They looked like dollies, so Mom and Dad agreed, but then they found out from the woman selling them that they were bedroom slippers.

Mom sounded mortified as she realised her little one loved her doll bedroom slippers.

The mom, Michelle, revealed in the post that her husband, Nick, bought their little girl everything she pointed at during their flea market visit.
