Would you send your kid to jail for pooping his pants?

A Florida father who is a policeman locked his three-year-old up in jail after he pooped his pants.
If you are a parent who is potty training your toddler, then you will know it is no easy task.
It takes lots of energy to be patient and understanding. As much as we lose out patience sometimes, it is so vital to keep it together and whoo-saa through it.
Not just because you don't want to ruin the day, but also because your response to your kids having an accident or being resistant impacts more than just their future toilet etiquette.
It can be damaging to a young child who is literally learning how to manage the connection between their brain signals and their body urges.
The key word is 'learning'. Yes, we do believe in giving each parent their reign when it comes to parenting, but sometimes following a positive and approved approach can work wonders for both you and your child.
One parent that we think took it too far is a Florida police officer. He reportedly put his three-year-old in handcuffs and locked him up in jail after the child had a toilet accident.
"In a conversation captured on body camera, Lt. Michael Schoenbrod of the Daytona Beach Police Department can be heard telling a Department of Children and Families caseworker that his son was ‘having difficulty’ with toilet training. To teach the three-year-old boy a lesson, he put him in jail on successive days back in October of last year and even handcuffed him on a second occasion. Schoenbrod said that after the traumatic experience, the child vowed to ‘never again poop his pants’." (Oddity Central)
If you're thinking that's a bit harsh, then you are on the same page as us. We get it, kids in general test our patience, but when you have a potty-training kid, things escalate fast.
But that doesn't mean we have to have a tantrum and make things worse for them. Scaring them with harsh words and punishment is not the answer.
