What would you do if your child wandered into the natural habitat of lions and other wildlife?

Some might openly admit that they would freak out. It's a real-life nightmare that reminds us how fickle life can be. This real-life ordeal echoes the childhood classic 'The Jungle Book', where a young boy is raised by animals in the wilderness.

An eight-year-old boy from the village of Nyaminyami reportedly wandered into Matusadonha Matusadonha National Park, a protected wildlife area in Zimbabwe. A member of parliament in Zimbabwe shared the post.

According to NBC News, "The boy was missing for five days in the jungle near the Hogwe River, Murombedzi said, where he slept on a rocky perch "amidst roaring lions, passing elephants, and ate wild fruits to survive".

It was inspiring to hear how the boy's community came together to assist the park rangers in their search for the young boy.

NBC News reports that Mutsa Murombedzi's announcement on social media did not provide exact details about the young boy's age or the distance he wandered off.

Where Murombedzi's post shared that the boy had wandered 23km from his village, the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) confirmed that he had walked 49 kilometres (30 miles) and was seven years old instead of eight.
