Young girl asks mom why she can't go out

This a great example of when your school fees are working against you...

Kids these days aren’t afraid to challenge their parents on the daily rules and routines that govern their lives.

Unlike millennials, who wouldn’t have dared to ask certain questions for fear of the look (or worse), today’s generation is a little bolder.

In a video, a young girl questions her mother about the apparent double standards – why can she go anywhere, anytime, but her daughter isn’t even allowed to visit a friend’s house?

Take a moment to imagine how a Boomer parent might have reacted to that question… The thought alone is enough to send shivers down our spines.

She was smart enough to ask this question with an audience as her mother was working on her laptop, and she respectfully addressed her concerns.

The video has reached a million views, and people have shared both funny and honest comments.

  • "I’m afraid she might have a point."

  • "'This is just the beginning', oh, Mom is cooked."

  • "Her classmates are in trouble during debates."

  • "This is off-topic to what she's saying, but having your kids reason with you is healthy parenting."

  • "I see a future lawyer."

  • "Yes, it's fair. I am an adult; you are a child and take instructions from me. My house and my rules are simple. She will adjust and heal."

  • "Please never dim her light; girls like her will be leaders someday. If this energy is channelled correctly."

This comment made us laugh out loud, "My daughter is like this. She said to me 'Mommy, please do the right thing. You are 31. Put your shoes in your room.'"
