When in doubt, always change the topic...

Have you ever felt that you end up being unreasonable when you try to explain why something is unacceptable to your child?

So much so that you believe their version of events is the proverbial 'right way' of doing things. If you agree, then you should know that you are not alone in this thing they call parenting

It's an art form that kids have mastered, and we don't know how to feel about it, but we do know that as they elevate in their reasoning, we back down, and, eventually, it leads to a laughable moment.

A video that caught our attention recently showed a young child inside the car holding money in her hand. Her mother, who was videoing her, asked her where she got the money, and the child casually said she got it from her aunt's purse.

Of course, the mother reacts by thinking that the child just took it without the aunty knowing and tells her to give it back. The child says no and looks at her mother with a fair level of distaste.

It is not determined whether the child took the money herself without permission or if her aunt gave her the money, but the way she changed the topic was priceless.

She rolls out her R10 note, looks at Nelson Mandela and says, "Look, my Oupa."
