Priceless gesture as younger student combs through older peer's hair
There were so many things special about this moment, we cannot bring ourselves to choose just one...
We recently saw the cutest and most endearing thing occur at a school in the Eastern Cape.
The students of Laerskool Frans Conradie were videoed in what looked like their assembly hall. All the students, the younger ones at the back and the older ones at the front, were watching intently and paying close attention.
While all this was happening, a sweet gesture between a young boy and his older peer melted our hearts.
Usually, there is this misconception that the older grades don't want to associate themselves with the younger students. It is a rite of passage for some who feel they are too cool for school and everything or everyone else. However, sometimes it's just as simple as a tween finding out who they are and figuring things out as they move through life.
In the video, which the school account shared on TikTok, we see a young boy standing behind an older boy seated.
The younger boy is combing through the older boy's hair with his fingers, and it looks natural to the younger kid. He is calm, listening to what's going on and continues to play with his older peer's hair. It is a true testament to a child's innocence.
Interestingly enough, the older boy doesn't stop him, he smiles and laughs when his friend notices what's happening but doesn't stop him. But the fact that he doesn't stop the younger kid shows us what type of guy this young man is.

We all need to follow the older boy's acceptance of the moment. Stop stealing a child's innocence by stopping them from doing things that may or may not suit societal standards.
Let them be free and learn about life on their terms.
