The Zambian granny who accidentally became a fashion icon

When you decide to play dress up with your grandmother and she becomes an internet sensation...
A grandmother making waves on the fashion scene has surprised many people on the internet with her natural modelling capabilities.
Margret Chola assumed her calling in life as the 'Legendary Glamma' and has usurped the throne of fashion icon—a role she never expected to adopt. Chola was introduced to the world of high fashion by her granddaughter, Kaumba, a stylist based in New York.
Diana Kaumba returned to Zambia for her late father's second death anniversary and asked her grandmother if she would like to try on some of her fashion garments. Chola, or as Diana calls her, Mbuya (grandmother in the Bemba language) agreed, and the rest is, as they call it, history.
Margret is evidently a natural, and it shows on social media, as she has over 60,000 followers. Check out one of her Instagram posts below.
Kaumba was inspired to pursue fashion because of her late father, a stylish dresser.
And now, it seems her grandmother has helped her in her fashion endeavours. Her grandmother unintentionally became a fashion icon when Kaumba posted a photograph of her in a high-fashion garment using their rural town as the backdrop.
"I was so nervous when I posted that first photo. I left my phone for 10 minutes and in those 10 minutes there were 1,000 likes," Ms Kaumba says. "My mind was blown. The comments were flying in and people were asking for more." (BBC)

Margret has been overwhelmed with excitement over her newfound calling and how so many people have embraced her taking on this less-than-traditional approach.
"I didn’t know I could make such an impact at this age."
All the looks reflect her maximalist-chic aesthetic - which celebrates the joy of excess, eclectic combinations, the big and the bold, and clashing patterns and colours. At the heart of it all are eye-catching accessories - bold sunglasses, oversized hats, necklaces, bracelets, pendants, rings, gloves, bags, blonde wigs, crowns.
That influence has come directly from her grandmother, who has "always been a lover of pearls and bangles". (BBC)
Legendary Glamma's favourite look is the one below, and we have to say it shows in her demeanour - courtesy of Instagram.
