Mack Rapapali speaks to the legendary 'Spikiri' from 'Trompies'
It's always a pleasure to have the opportunity to speak to our local legends and learn from them.
Mandla Mofokeng, known to many as 'Spikiri' from the music group, Trompies had a chat with Mack Rapapali about the origins of the group and laying the foundation for Kwaito music in South Africa during the Apartheid era.
The name of the group was inspired by the 1970's sitcom "Trompie en die Boksombende" but the music is definitely not related to the classic.

Their hit songs include 'Ke Tswa Hole', 'Magasman' and 'Madibuseng' which blew up in the 90's and are still favourites in many communities to this day.
