Boy saved from taking baseball bat to the head
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Although it is becoming more and more clear that humans struggle to survive without their phones, that does not take away from the fact that phones can be very distracting, especially if given to children, and a young boy in Florida nearly found that out the hard way.
The boy was so caught up in his phone that he missed that a baseball bat was flying his way.
This happened during a training game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Atlanta Braves in Florida, USA.
Luckily for him, he was saved by a man sitting next to him, who managed to block the bat.

Of course buying your child a cellphone comes with benefits, such as knowing that if you need to get hold of them, they are just a phone call away, or they can reach you when in need. However, there are serious concerns that come with buying children cellphones.
Some of the concerns are:
Anti-social behaviour: One of the major cons of having your child own a cellphone is that phones are said to encourage anti-social behaviour. Your child will not need to worry about making new friends or chatting to those around him or her, as they could just concentrate on the phone in their hand.
Lack of sleep: Children who sleep with their cellphones tend to stay up quite late, either because of the games on their phone or because of surfing the net.
More prone to cyber bullying: With your child being young they may not be able to defend against cyber bullying, which may happen on any social platform or the internet.
Parents: have you had to confiscate your child's cellphone because they were losing focus?
