Crazy: simulator lets visitors experience death
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Fear of the unknown can be quiet scary, especially death.
Inventors in China, though, have thought of a way in which that fear could be faced... sort of!
They have invented the death simulator for people who want to experience death, cremation, and rebirth.
The visitors are put in a gigantic simulator which looks like an oven to experience death and cremation. They are then resurrected through a giant latex womb.
The experience costs about R987.56 and the visitors have to write their final words and thoughts before "death", making the experience even more real and scary.
Ding Rui, founder of the death simulator, told reporters about the thinking behind the invention.
“When we do not fully understand and take in [death], saying goodbye is really quite a complicated and difficult task. It covers various dimensions, conflicts, and even prevents you from being able to reach a decision, and you don't know what to do. This all can happen," he said.
“So I thought of how to be able to come up with a premise on how to educate people on life, so as one approaches the moment just before they face death, they don't have to think about these problems constantly.”
The simulator opens in China on Monday, 4 April.
