Daring rescue saves dog from the grips of a boa constrictor
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
A small group of young boys fought valiantly to save a dog from the grips of a large snake.
Once a dangerous snake has its sights set on its prey of choice, whether that is a small animal or a human being, there is often very little that can be done.
There are people who have had the misfortune of witnessing their pets being suffocated and devoured by snakes. Three young boys in a video published by Sky News did not want to go down that route.
Dramatic footage shared on Chinese media shows three boys desperately trying to save a dog caught in a snake’s death grip.

The large boa constrictor has already coiled itself around the lower body of the dog by the time the boys kick their rescue attempt into a higher gear. One boy approaches the two animals with a stick and uses it to push the snake's body away from the dog's.
Meanwhile, one of the other boys holds the dog's head down, apparently to keep it still while the other two boys continue to uncoil the snake, bravely grabbing it and pulling it away from the dog.
The boys manage to remove the constrictor from the dog, and the dog runs away as soon as it is freed.
