A driver is lucky to be alive after his car was slammed by a train in Poland.
The accident happened on February 16 at a crossing in Czerwionka. According to reports, the driver was trying to beat the train, but lost.
Footage of the accident shows the driver heading to the track and within a blink of an eye, the train comes speeding into view and smashes the car.
Fortunately, the driver is believed to have survived the accident.
The video was released by Polish Railway Lines to warn motorists to be cautious.
“98% of accidents are caused by driver, we want to draw attention to how important it is to exercise caution and observe traffic regulations,” reads the caption.
Train incidents are common all over the world. In 2016, a man died after driving into a train while it was moving on the tracks in Westonaria, Gauteng.
According to dsclaw.co.za , the South African government spends R400 million per year on train-related incidents, including collisions, derailments, platform change incidents and commuter accidents.
