Golden labrador adopts fluffy ducklings
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
A ten-year-old labrador from Essex in the United Kingdom has warmed hearts by making friends with a group of fluffy ducklings.
It takes a village to raise a family, and no one understands that better than Fred, a ten-year-old labrador from Mountfitchet Castle in Essex.
Staff at the popular tourist destination in the United Kingdom noticed nine fluffy ducklings wandering around on the property, apparently abandoned by their mother. One of the owners of Moutfitchet Castle, Jeremy Goldsmith, took the ducklings in because he was concerned that they were still too young to take care of themselves.
Fred, who has an open heart for rescue animals because he has grown up around them, did not hesitate to step in and play a fatherly role for the ducklings.

Fred and his nine babies get along very well; the ducks can often be seen resting on Fred's head or back.
It is unfortunate that the ducklings' mother has disappeared, but since Fred has taken them "under his paw", they are sure to go on to live a beautiful life at Mountfitchet Castle.
