Man fired for farting on the job
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
A security guard has been fired after videos of him farting
on the company premises were discovered by his superiors.
Security guards are trusted to be alert and ready for action in an emergency, but too often we see them idling behind desks staring at security footage. This is perhaps a good sign: if the security personnel at a certain establishment seem to be “care free”, it is an indication that the area is relatively safe. Or it could be a sign that they are incurably bored.
The latter turned out to be true for a man named Doug who, clearly out of administrative tasks to keep him busy while he was at work, took to recording himself passing the time by passing gas.
Now known as “Paul Flart” (similar to another misguided security guard Paul Blart from the popular movie Paul Blart: Mall Cop), Doug has earned himself a healthy following on Instagram – people marvel at his farting “skills”. Doug recorded himself farting at work over a period of six months and fans loved it – but his bosses did not.
Early this week, Doug’s day of reckoning came. He walked
into work and was told that the videos of himself farting while wearing company
uniform and standing on company property were grounds for dismissal.

Ever the dedicated content creator, Doug live streamed the moment he got fired. He was nonchalant and tried to defend himself by saying that he never showed the company name or the location in any of his videos, but the decision had already been made.
Doug told viewers of the livestream, “We’ll continue in the
future. Please stay tuned.”
What could be next for Doug? Burping songs during staff meetings?
