More Google self-driven cars to hit the road
Google may soon be able to increase the number of its self-driven cars, and is looking to hire engineers and managers that will make this a reality.
Google is looking to increase the number of self-driven cars on the road, and has advertised 36 jobs to do with their vision, itweb reported.
The company, which currently tests its cars in California and Texas, is looking to extend testing to Kirkland, Washington, and is looking to hire engineers working on motion control, displays, robotics, and sensors.
It is also seeking to hire managers who will be in charge of operations, materials, and marketing, the publication reported.
The news comes just days before Google's first ever self-driven car caused an accident in Mountain View, California, when it collided with a bus.
The self-driven Lexus SUV reportedly moved from its lane to avoid sandbags on the roadway ahead.
“We clearly bear some responsibility, because if our car hadn’t moved, there wouldn’t have been a collision,” Google said in a statement.
Though nobody was injured, concerns around how safe the self-driven car is has been raised.
