Muslim/Jewish couple's social experiment reveals shocking truth
Updated | By Poelano Malema
In an ideal world, love should go beyond the borders of religion or race.
Although it is no secret that there is constant conflict between Muslims and Jewish people, the experiment painted the harsh reality of how to some people, love between the two groups is impermissible.
The experiment was done by YouTubers AreWeFamousNow and features a man dressed in Muslim garb and a woman dressed in orthodox Jewish attire walking and holding hands in the streets.
The video also shows another 'couple' of a woman in Muslim garb and a man dress in Orthodox Jewish garb. They also walk the streets holding hands.
The two 'couples' walked through the Muslim neighbourhoods and the Ultra-Orthodox areas of Brooklyn.
The shocking response from people included name-calling, being followed, and even having things thrown at them.
Recently in South Africa, actress Mbali Mlotshwa took to Instagram to share her unpleasant experience following her role as a girlfriend to Bernard (Werner Coertser) on a television show.
The couple received a lot of criticism and insults on social media for their interracial relationship.
Mlotshwa wrote on Instagram: in the past year I started shooting @real7delaan and I agreed to doing because of the story behind my character. Interracial relationships. Working there was not easy and finding my footing was the most difficult but I took it on with the utmost humility, Since my character journey was the most important thing. Bernard and Nandi recieved some racist slurs from there on screen debut this past week,(production expected it and so did I and change was the point ) but the crazy thing is racial slurs happened on set with people I thought were educated and open minded. I say #racismMustfall open this conversation. I'm all for it being a crime #ImbrownAndProud thank you Bernard for being the perfect gentleman throughout. #simplylive #simplylove #simplyenhle🎓🌸 skin color is for the blind... And ignorant
