New Zealand runner proposes to girlfriend after race
Updated | By Lethu Ndimande
This is not exactly the response you expect to get when you congratulate your partner after a race, but we'll take it!
With just a towel wrapped around his shoulders and just a few steps over the finish line, New Zealand runner Jake Robertson got down one knee when his partner approached to congratulate him after the Great North Run in Newcastle, UK.
According to reports, his Kenyan partner, Magdalyne Masai, had finished fourth in the women's elite race earlier in the day. When she approached Jake to congratulate him on finishing his race, he decided to ask her the big question.
She accepted his offer, much to the crowd's delight.
Jake told metro.co.uk that the proposal was completely spontaneous as he only thought about it when he was about to finish the race. How cute is that?
Do you think your proposal can top this?
