Nothing can stand in the way of this dog-and-baby friendship
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
This toddler made a good friend of the dog next door, despite obvious barriers to their relationship.
Meeting a friendly dog who loves to play fetch is one of the greatest joys of life. And if your new furry friend is determined to let you into his life despite the metre-high fence that keeps the two of you apart, then the chances of your bond lasting a lifetime are even higher.
This is what Twitter user @CMNelsonPhoto discovered when he walked out into his backyard and saw his two-year-old son tossing a ball over the fence.
A fence can’t stop my two-year-old from playing with his new best friend. pic.twitter.com/9QBuaq4Ee2

The young boy, noticing the dog, walks up to the fence and throws the ball over. The dog, clearly eager for a bit of play time, picks the ball up and drops it back over the fence.
The game carries on over the barrier like this, resembling something more like a tennis match than an average round of fetch.
But the two will not be deterred: a fence means nothing when you've got a tennis ball and the desire to build a new relationship. People who saw the little boy's unconventional game of fetch thought that the display was truly heartwarming.
That little one has great hand/eye coordination for such a little guy. I see a future in sports for him.

I wish I could train my neighbour to do that for my dog! 😂
