Pilot almost loses his head in freak accident
One racer is thanking his lucky stars after he was almost killed in a plane crash during the National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada, on Sunday.
Pilot Thom Richard noticed something was wrong with the engine of his plane moments before the race. So, in order to warn his fellow racers, he opened up his canopy, hoping they would notice his predicament.

Unfortunately, one pilot didn’t get the message and his wing hit Richard's plane and caused it to spin, resulting in Richard being injured, Mashable reported. Although both planes were wrecked, the two pilots only suffered minor injuries.
