Staff meeting interrupted by falling python
Updated | By High School Hits Classics with Barney Simon
Staff at a bank in China's Nanning City had some extra pressure added into their meeting when they had to deal with a stray python that wandered into their offices.
Meetings are stressful enough, what with the long presentations and the ever-expanding list of duties for the upcoming week, without anyone needing to throw a stray python into the mix. Yet, that is precisely what staff at the Xin Cheng branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank had to deal with.
As they gathered for a meeting on Friday, 12 October, they were surprised by the serpent falling from the ceiling. It landed between two employees. Moments later everyone in the vicinity was panicking and trying to flee.
In the chaos someone managed to call public security officers, who arrived on the scene with staff from a local wildlife protection station. Soon, the python was gathered up and bundled away from the bank.
Wildlife professionals speculate that the python, which is non-venomous, was being reared by someone nearby and had possibly been hunting for food when it fell through the ceiling.
