Tennis fan's unconventional snack shocks crowd
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
A woman attending the US Open at the weekend was spotted dipping her food in a glass of soda before eating it.
The quality of a sporting event can often be judged by the variety of refreshments available for sale to spectators. Hot dogs, popcorn, skewers of all kinds - when you're out at a game you can eat all kinds of interesting food that you wouldn't usually have. And, if you go to the US Open, you have the chance to observe other people's strange eating habits.
Because that's the other mark of a great sporting event: the opportunities for people watching. Anyone attending this past weekend's tennis event had the opportunity to combine both elements when they laid their eyes on one woman eating her fried chicken in quite a unique way.
Why are we dipping chicken fingers into soda? Why is this happening? Someone call the cops right now! pic.twitter.com/iO9KsgYE4O

Sitting at a table with two children and completely oblivious to the camera that is trained on her, the woman is seen "dipping her chicken fingers into a tall, icy glass of Coke on live television". This is clearly standard behaviour for the woman because she does not bat an eyelid as she lifts the soda-drenched chicken to her mouth and takes a bite out of it.

Upon seeing the woman eat the soggy chicken, people gathered to shame her choice of dip. Honey mustard and mayonnaise are acceptable dip choices, but Coca-Cola is absolutely out of the question.
I have seen some crazy things in my time here on earth. Nothing has prepared me for this.

Could be the effect of heat stroke because that is totally unacceptable.

Doesn’t sound good to me

It seems chicken in Coca-Cola is an acquired taste, and not necessarily something that she should be shamed for.
But is this combination something you would ever try?
