Thirsty lions filmed licking tent

It’s not every day that you get to hear of humans coming into contact with lions... and coming out alive! But in what seems to be a truly remarkable story, a woman managed to film a group of lionesses licking water off her tent - just a few inches away from her!

The group of thirsty lionesses were spotted licking rainwater off a tent in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Botswana on May 9, Facebook News Wire reported.  The woman, Francie Lubbe, reportedly made sure she kept still so she didn't interfere with the lions. The good thing, however, is that she managed to capture the whole ordeal on video.

In the video, which she posted on Facebook, the lionesses can be seen licking water off the tent walls, ignoring her. Lubbe says she was privileged to witness the ordeal. She wrote on Facebook: “Khiding 9 May. What a privilege. It rained during the night and 3 lioness licking the water from the tent.”

It is not surprising that all the lionesses wanted was to quench their thirst. According to reports, Botswana is reportedly facing its worst drought since 1981. This has not only left humans suffering, but animals too. To date, over 80 Zebras have reportedly died due to the drought.

Below is the video of the thirsty lionesses licking the tent.
