Tourists mesmerised as pride of lions marches through park
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
Tourists at the Kruger National Park could only watch in awe as the lions finished their procession.
Ram Goyel did not expect to drive right into the middle of a pride of lions during a drive at the Kruger National Park, but that is exactly where he ended up.
He and his group first believed that the yellow-looking animals they could see were hyenas, but were pleasantly surprised to find that it was lions making their way down the road.
Ram told Latest Sightings that the realisation set his heart beating rapidly and, as soon as the vehicle they were in pulled off to the side to let the lions pass, the animals got very close to them.

Describing his feeling at the moment, Ram said: "My hand was shaking with exhilaration."
The moment ended when the road, which had been relatively empty, filled up with other vehicles, effectively pushing the lions back into the bushes.
Ram's final thoughts on the encounter are a reminder that people should cherish all such encounters with nature: "Just give space to the wildlife and be patient. Don't intrude upon the animals. Respect Kruger!"
