Workzone with Barney: Tiny karate kid gives a lesson in hard work

If this little boy can manage to break the plank, then surely you can get through your Wednesday afternoon slump.
It is well-known that martial arts is based on discipline, perseverance, and good character. This young martial arts trainee showed his sensei that he definitely has what it takes to earn his belts.

In the video below, the young boy and the sensei first practice some easy moves which the boy masters with no hassle. Then comes time for his first trick: breaking a plank in two perfect pieces with just one kick. Watch as he attempts to impress his sensei with his skills:
The little boy does not give up when he doesn't get the trick right the first time. Instead, he listens to his sensei's words of encouragement and tries a few more times.

The look of joy on his face when he eventually gets the trick right is proof of the value in the saying "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again".
Take a page out of this little boy's book: if you are struggling to find a little bit of motivation to get through the rest of this week, remember that baby steps can get you a long way.
