World’s first massage hoodie
Updated | By Poelano Malema
But now there is a new hoodie that promises to give you a massage wherever you are and whenever you need it.
The Airawear, designed by a Singapore-based startup, has six inflatable air pillows stitched inside a hoodie to relieve aches and give you a massage wherever you are - and you can control it using your smartphone, Daily Mail reported.
“AiraWear works by using specially-designed air pillows to apply pressure on your back, which produces an acupressure and kneading sensation. Our smartphone app, connected via Bluetooth, has various massage programs to relieve the muscle tensions affecting different muscle groups on the back. The massaging unit is detachable, which allows users to wear it under other clothing and to easily clean the specially made hoodie. Users can choose what level and kind of massage they want: Relax, Shoulder, Lower Back and Sleep,” reads AiraWear's campaign, according to Daily Mail.
And not only does the hoodie give you a massage, but it also helps with posture. “The device also focuses on the wearer's posture with an integrated posture assessment system that monitors your posture. Lightweight sensors in the vest track your posture in real-time, which is displayed in the app for wearers to see. If users do start to slouch, AiraWear will turn on massage modules on the lower back as a signal for you to sit up straight,” reads the campaign.
