Hosting the Olympic Games comes with a lot of hard work and preparation. Millions of Rands are spent on venues, but what happens to them after the Olympics are over?
Millions of Rands are spent on venues, but what happens to them after the Olympics are over? A lot of stadiums are left abandoned and look really horrible after a couple of years of being neglected.

Some of them are left almost unrecognisable, like the Hellinikon Olympic Complex which was built for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. The watercourse was left to dry out, leaving behind an overgrown pit. Sarajevo Olympic village is also almost unrecognisable. It was built for the 1984 Winter Olympic Games, but unfortunately, the Bosnian War in the 1990s left it in ruins.
